I got my application in and got one rejection and no interview so far :-( Does anyone know any new programs starting this year or in the process of getting accreditation this year?

Any help will be appreciated.

I can't help you with the new programs, but I can say its very very early in the inteview offering process. I wont say dont look into the new program thing, but its certainly not panic mode yet.

Patience Grasshopper.

I recieved 95% of my interview invitations the first couple of weeks of November, after the Dean;s letter went out. Wait for your Dean;s letter to go out.

I completely agree. Most programs don't send out any invitations until after November 1. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of this year.

yeah, it's still quiet early to hear from the programs. i remember only getting drexel and resurrection early in october (i was rotating in sacramento and the cubs/red sox were still alive...). well, i got the call & email from mlk on sept 2...

i starting getting a few interviews in late october and had expected a flood of interviews on nov 1 but i think i did not get any on nov 1. got a lot a few days afterwards and then lots after that if i remember correctly. it was interesting to check sdn b/c when i got interview emails, others would post w/in the hour and say that they got the same interviews.

good luck, this is not the time to worry.

but to answer you initial question, sorry I don't know any new programs this year.

Yes, there is a new program approved. The University of Utah has been approved and is recruiting for 7 intern spots in our new 1-2-3 year program. Look for the thread entitled: New Utah EM Program Approved for more details. Our website should be finished and up in the next week, and we will be at the EMRA/ACEP residency fair in San Francisco on October 16. Information about how to apply is in the thread mentioned above, or you can call us at 801-581-2417 or email us at [email protected] for more details.
