Hi everyone!

I'm just another desi livin' in nYc and here's the verdict:
22 academic average:clap:, BUT 16 PAT🙁

i read Mary's earlier post about her DAT experience, and I wish I were in her shoes. Clearly, that 16 ain't gonna help matters.

So I guess I'm asking for your advice on prospects and schools to apply. Also, I gotta knock out an essay (soon) and I had a question about it: I'm a big technophile and dentistry has a lot of that. For example, my new dentist has monitors right beside the chair to show patients what is ailing them. For a lot of you that may be mundane but I was blown away. Anyway, should I mention this attribute of mine as a reason to pursue dentistry? Thank you all, for reading and responding!

Welcome to SDN, what should we call u then? Desi jr?

Regarding your question, "the other desi" will tell you that Penn doesn't care about PAT score, and Penn doesn't emphasize at DAT scores that much (at least for the senior desi). The PAT score doesn't indicate anything. But make sure you apply to upenn and nova, and apply early.

The 22 average is great, and many schools will forgive the 15 PAT

Good luck

oye!!

I'm the "other Desi" Welcome to SDN!!!

PENN is a solid school. NOVA had some nice computerized equipment you are talking about. You did awesome on your DAT, that 16 is a little low but I think it might be overlooked due to your outstanding Academic score.

Hi DesiInNYC,
congrats on finishing the DAT, feeling relieved?? Time to go kick back a bit and unwind yourself!! I think you did great, just focus on your upcoming application process. As for me, time to knock on the doors of my professors and ask that letter of rec. Good luck!
