I have the step 2 secrets 2nd edition published in 2004. There is a 3rd edition out. However, on the elsevier website it lists the only things being new to this edition as:

- Find information quickly with a second color highlighting chapter and section titles, legends, bullets and icons, and key terms.

- Consult the book wherever you go thanks to the portable size that fits in your lab coat pocket.

Can anyone tell me if there are any significant changes to the book in the 3rd edition? Or should I just use the 2nd edition and save $40.

I flipped through the new edition at the local med school bookstore...didn't look like too much of a difference other than aesthetics. They basically updated it to follow the look of the all the books in the Secrets series.

This is an old thread, but I have a free copy of the 2nd edition. I wouldn't mind dropping $40 bucks if the 3rd edition is better, but I certainly won't do it unless it is necessary.

Anybody else have any insight into the differences between 2nd and 3rd edition of USMLE Step 2 Secrets?

Never mind, checked on Amazon. Seems 2nd edition is indeed virtually identical in content.

Sorry to be annoying about this, but do other people agree that the 3rd edition doesnt have much more new in it?

Thanks!
