Technology New Palm Centro

looks very similar to the treo 755 except with less internal memory. this device appears to beat out the treo 680 as well (especially in price). if my contract was up and i had sprint i would definitely be considering the centro.

look at the comparison chart on the palm site, it stacks up quite nicely.

Just to throw this out there:

I now have a Centro. It's nothing more than the 755 with a different case. For the price, I'm happy. No real bugs as of yet, either.

How is the screen size? That's my main concern with the 755 screen not too big to begin with.

I find the screen to be more than adequate. You have about 4cm x 4cm of usable space, which is plenty reactive and vibrant. Works well for all of the apps I've used (including OperaMini for a browser).

I mean, you can't really imagine the size of this thing until you hold one. It's roughly the size of your typical flip cell phone closed. However, despite what some have said, the keyboard is as functional as that on the 755.

I'm also happy to find that while glossy, the phone doesn't easily smudge or show fingerprints.

the screen on the centro is slightly smaller than the 755

how do you like the OperaMini? I am not quite satisfied with the preloaded browser (safari).

btw, for those wondering, epocrates, mobile merck medicus, and diagnosaurus work just fine on it for me. get the sprint unlimited data plan and you have the world at your finger tips at a fast speed. my favorite feature is google maps is preloaded and you can get traffic and satellite info right into it. the keyboard is usable, you just won't be able to type as fast on it as the treo 755. still, the size is great and feels just as big as any other phone i've had. the screen is sharp too.
