How important is internet access on a PDA during 3rd and 4th years? I think I have narrowed down my choices between a Palm TX and a Palm Treo 680. If internet is not a problem, I will most likely get a Treo. I don't feel like paying the $40/month to have internet on the Treo, but I like the keyboard. But if wifi access is important, then I will get the TX.

with the abundance of medical software out there for palms i really don't have any need for wifi/internet in the hospital. you can also use a program called isilox to copy html from medical websites to read in isilo on your pda (think emedicine and other such sites which link throughout).

unless your hospital system has wifi installed and you can get pt data instantly then i don't think the wifi is necessary.

i have a treo 650 and love it

check out www.treocentral.com and www.mytreo.net for more info

Meh. I don't think a PDA is really all that useful. Little books are faster and less fragile.

I recommend the Treo. I have a PocketPC with wifi, but I wish I would have gotten the Treo version, just to reduce the clutter of having to carry a cell phone AND a PDA. I love my PDA, but the wifi is absolutely useless to me because it's incompatible with our hospital's wifi network (you need a VPN to connect to the one here).
