New Puppy Help

I adopted a puppy yesterday from a shelter. I've had it 24 hours and he just wants to sleep. He doesn't eat, drinks a little but not much. He's 12 weeks old. I'd call the shelter but they are closed today and tomorrow. My vet is also closed. Does anyone have any advice?

Puppies do sleep alot. What was the puppy doing that all its doing is sleeping?

I would see a Veterinarian as soon as yours opens. Has the puppy had any of his/her shots? (DHPP? Leptospirosis?) If the puppy starts having diarrhea or vomiting, then if you have a Pet Emergency Clinic (Sometimes they have hours during holidays) near you, you might want to consider taking the puppy in before your Vet is open.

Most of us here are not Vets yet, and even if we were, it's hard to give advice/diagnose over the internet.

The best advice any of us could give you is take the puppy to your local Vet's office.
