New school list?

I am a non-trad from California East Bay, spent 4 years working as an automation engineer. Applied this past cycle, primary complete 7/19/18 (due to a really annoying mistake by my CC, they sent the transcript to the wrong address, but alas nothing I can do about it now), secondaries complete early August through September depending on when received. I had 3 interviews, 2 resulted in WLs, and now I'm waiting to hear back from 1 WL. Looking like I'm going to have to reapply at this point 🙁 I think my problem this go round was my school list and app complete too late. I'd love suggestions on a better school list for the 2019 app.

Stats: AO GPA 3.34, sGPA 3.74, (for a total 3.52), MCAT: 520
Research for 2 years back in college, so 5-6 years ago
Engineering work experience for 4 years
Hospital volunteer (ER and surgery center) 300 hours
Suicide hotline volunteer, now job >1000 hours
Medical scribe for clinical dermatologist 900 hours
Shadowing 72 hours (plastic surgeon, anesthesiologist, PCP, OB/GYN)​

Volunteer at a low-income Spanish-speaking clinic 30 hours

Leadership positions in various clubs and sorority
WWOOFed in India for 1 month

Did you use the MSAR for your school list? Outside of a handful of schools, your list is very top heavy/too in-state oriented for your stats.

I hoped that because my most recent courses were a 4.0 GPA schools would keep that under consideration. But I had little to no help on compiling my school list so I realize now it was very top heavy. Any specific school suggestions?

And yes Goro I recognize my interview skills need strengthening as well. This is something I have been working on throughout the cycle as I get bad nerves.
