Scroll down to "First laser gum disease procedure gains FDA approval"
Poke and read

Invisalign, rotory endo, and now evidence based FDA approved lazer treatment for deep pockets which actualy reduces those pockets and rebuilds lost connective tissue between roots and supportive tissue.

Like I've said before...high tech will do wonders for GP's. We'll still need the specialists, but fewer cavities showing up on exams will pose no threat to GP's if they keep up with latest techniques.

Link doesn't work.

It's a terrific time to be a gp, that's for sure. Having said that, it's our responsibility to be completely informed when buying into new technology. Invisalign is limited in what it can achieve and not completing treatment with traditional ortho is to do a disservice to your patient in most cases. Lasers in perio are also limited in what they can achieve. Combine that with high costs and taking longer to do the same procedure as you could with a scalpel and IMO lasers are just not there yet. Rotary does seem to be a wonderful technique combined with hand files. Of the three you mentioned, rotary is the only one I would buy. The others are still not quite their yet IMO.

Sorry DS squared, I have edited the link to make it work (see original post) . To read the article, you will have to do an additional scroll and poke after getting to the link.

Cool, thanks.
