Hi all!
I'll admit I've been a lurker around the forums for a while, but I finally finished the DAT process today, and I'm stepping out! Especially since everyone here seems so helpful..
So, my scores were:
AA - 24
TS - 24
PAT - 23
Bio - 22, Orgo - 23, GChem - 27, QR - 22, RC - 24
I'll admit that I was in total shock when the score sheet came up. I thought that the bio was the hardest version I had taken yet (and I've done topscore, kaplan, and barron). Gen chem was very easy (I was in 100th percentile??? so I imagine I got it all right) for me this time, and orgo wasn't bad. I thought my PAT keyholes section was pretty hard, and angles, surprisingly, was not as bad as I imagined -and dreaded- it to be. QR was my lowest score yet, so I am kind of disappointed, but I know I shouldn't complain.
My question is about dental schools. I attend UM undergrad right now, and I would LOVE to go to the UM dental school. But my GPA is rather low (3.2), but I know it will go up this year (bad choices last two years). I've got research under my belt, but no shadowing yet. Will these scores, and a potential good junior year give me good chances? There are some other schools I want to apply to as well, how much will my GPA hurt me?
