Hey Everyone,
I'm kind of new to this section, and i'm exploring the possibility of a post-bacc or SMP. I'm sure there are a ton of threads out there and just browsing for the past two hours has given me a headache, but ive seen some old posts (about 4 years ago that kind of helped) But its 2007, and things have changed.

About myself. I'm a pre-dental student, graduating from a competitive top university with a BS in biomedical engineering, chem minor (maybe?). I'm slated to take the DATs in a couple weeks, and judging from practice tests, I'm doing pretty well (21 AA, 19-20 PAT). Here's the problem..by the time i graduate, my gpa will be approx 2.8. I also have a ton of good ECs and some research, but nothing good enough to outshine my GPA. My grades have been consistent each year.

With that said. Where does this leave me? What are my best options? Will a post bacc improve my chances? Or will an SMP improve my chances? Is a one year program sufficient? or will this require 2-3 years? Also, since my grades are low and i enroll in one of these programs, will I be able to apply and (hopefully be accepted) enroll in a dental school the following year? Or will I lose another year in the application process?

Thanks.
