New to VSAS

Hey guys, so my school just joined VSAS for electives and I am very confused regarding this whole process. I'm at a DO school but will be applying to many allopathic PM&R programs. Once the catalogs are processed for the 2013-2014 year, you can submit the application but almost all of the places I am applying to have a supplemental application with immunizations including the TB skin test. Now here's the confusion for me, one place wants it within 6 months, another within 3 months and there all different. My question is do you apply first as soon as the catalog is available then submit this supplemental stuff afterwards or do you have to submit all at once in order for them to process the application? Some of the rotations won't be till like Sept/Oct of 2013 but there catalog is usually available in April or May, so I don't want to screw myself out of rotation if all materials are not in on time. Btw any of you that have used this to apply to PM&R rotations, how competitive is it and what is the availability? Thanks

For example: "Will not process application without immunizations"

Apply as soon as it opens. Most places seem to be first-come, first-serve. Get the supplemental stuff in as soon as you can, but don't let it delay your initial application

Here's a question: When did this thing open? My school just "authorized" me to use the site, but there aren't any slots left for my field at any of the programs I'm looking at. WTF?

The coming up catalogue year is 2013-2014 which isn't out yet.

A few of the catalogues went up this month, but I'm not aware of any place taking applications yet. Are there institutions already taking applications?

Depends on the institution.

For mine, they are middle of March to April, when they start accepting applications.
