In the products and discounts section of this forum, it was advertised that Adam Brochert will be publishing the 3rd edition of his USMLE Step 2 Secrets. Does anyone know the possible date of release? I'm trying to decide whether to buy that book now, or wait until the new one comes out.

I used the old one and read it about 4 times(not kidding) and did UWorld twice and rocked that exam!!! that book is all you need. it trains you how to think for the exam. I would start reading it asap!!!

Yeah, it's not like Adam Brochert took Step II again since writing the first edition. He's just making some money. 2nd edition should be fine.

I emailed the publishing company and they said the new edition is not set to be published until May 2009.

what the hell is a WaWa?

anyone think FA for step 2 is crucial on top of secrets and UW? i figure it can't hurt, but should i bother memorizing the whole book?

I don't think it's crucial. If you do use it, you might not need to bother with Secrets.

Wawa is a chain of convenience stores in southeastern PA (although I think that they've spread throughout most Mid-Atlantic states). It's like 7-11, but much, much better.

I don't think it's crucial. If you do use it, you might not need to bother with Secrets.

I prefer secrets.

I am by no means an all star, but I ve been looking at Boards and wards and secrets.

i also got both of them spiral bound.

I didn't use Secrets, although I flipped through it and Crush.

I preferred FA. It is longer, so if you read slowly or have limited time, Secrets may be better. People have done very well on this exam with either. I think most of that is due to working hard during 3rd year and using USMLEWorld - the books aren't that important.

i bought it based on many reccamendations--the book stinks. quick blurbs that we all know--or they dont teach anything. like reading one of those "recall" books.

do not buy it
