Newb Pre-pharmacy Questions

Hi I'm new to this forum. I know you guys have sticky up there, but then I would like to ask few questions regarding application::

1) Is it too late to apply to pharmacy now?
2) I have my letter of recommendations on the way...2 from my professors but for my third one does it have to be pharmacist?/ doctor is fine?
3) My only pharmacy experience is calling in prescriptions n refills when I was a medical clerk, dropping by the pharmacy when doctors other me to get it. I just pretty much know the basics. Do I need to dig into it further?

1. not too late at all. apply now
2. some schools require a pharmacist, some schools don't even care if the writer is in the health profession. depends on the school..check with the schools you are applying to
3. the basics are fine..some people get accepted to pharmacy school with absolutely zero experience, so you're fine

1. you're still pretty early right now...if you submit within 2 weeks.

Like the people above said you are not late, infact its the perfect time for you to get started. Dont delay at all. Get started on the PharmCAS asap.
I only applied to few Cali schools and I think all of the schools did require LOR from the Pharmacist. Hopefully, the pharmacist you worked with could write a good letter.
You do have some pharmacy experience.. which is good. I also worked as an ancillary when I applied. Incorporate what you have learned from this experience into your statement. Things like...effective communication etc which are very important for the profession. I dont think you have to dig too deep but basic understanding of the profession will definitely help you write a good personal statement.

Thanks for the reply guys, I really appreciate it.

a. I am wondering but I am not planning to do this, if my application is submitted to pharmcas after two weeks would it be late?
b. It's just that my transcripts are on their way still? And also the LOR, I am waiting for two more, I got one in already...question is Can I submit to pharmcas although these are in progress?
c. Also I'm interested in applying to Touro CA, UCSD and MCPHS W. as I've done my research...
i. Touro needs 3 LORs, I do have 2 from professors and the third is from a Dr. would that be ok?
ii. UCSD, I don't think I can get a pharmacist to write me a letter, it would be impossible. I do not have connections. Even if I do, I do not want to forge it. 2 years ago I did interview 2 pharmacists but they are gone already. The other is retired and no where to be found. The other broke up with my friend's friend, who is also no where to be found. So, Lol i have no luck. Do you think using Physician's LOR will give me a chance?
