Are these available?

I have the 2002 Kaplan Books and DVDs (but not all the dvds work and some videos are missing).

Can someone help me out with this matter?

Thanks.

As far as I know, they're only available upon registration with the Kaplan lecture series. Check their website.

And no, don't ask about getting bootleg copies. As pretty much everyone will remind you, purchasing or selling Kaplan products is against their terms of service as well as the TOS for SDN.

Actually SDN does allow people to sell their used Kaplan material in the For Sale section at the bottom of the main forum page, so the op can check that out. By selling them, you are technically in violation of your deal with Kaplan, but I doubt they'll come after you personally. Now if you were asking someone to give you their qbank password or to make xerox copies of the books, that would be a different story.

Adding that you might want to check ebay. I've seen some listings there where they just don't mention Kaplan (sneaky, sneaky). And of course, buying it from the people in the class ahead of you is always the easiest.

I wouldn't be so sure -- I know a firm which spent a lot of time suing individuals personally for resale of products very similar to this on behalf of an educational products company (but not Kaplan). So it could happen. And certainly for any product selling for many thousands of dollars, it would be worth the time of the company to sue.

But the Kaplan books aren't sold by Kaplan for thousands of dollars. I can get them along with the whole Qreview package, video lectures and class notes for about $1k. But yeah, sell or buy them at your own risk. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

I've also got to say that these end-user restrictions have given me very little respect for Kaplan because they're a blatant attempt to avoid the first-sale doctrine.

Also, if the seller is not the original owner of the material, no agreement with Kaplan was made and hence nothing is being violated

That is true. You'd have to go back to the first person in the chain, which would be a real pita. I just can't imagine Kaplan would put forth all the effort necessary to stop all these transactions. I would guess they're content with stopping majors vendors like ebay, half.com and amazon from selling the used copies.
