This thread is getting ridiculous. I'm usually opposed to closing threads, but I'm thinking about pulling the plug on this one because it was 1) started by a TROLL and 2) beginning to delve into the realm of stereotypes.

It's stupid to say "Oh those Nguyens are SO SMART," even though it's a compliment. It's not true. Some are and some aren't. There is nothing about being from a certain ethnic group that makes you automatically better or worse than everyone else.

I hope we can all find better things to talk about besides stereotypes about certain groups of people and how group A/B/C is ________ or __________ and how "OMG I'd never date someone who is ________" or "White chicks hate Asian men" or whatever else people can dream up. It's dumb.

I love it how people are so vocal about excluding a whole race of people, when it comes to anything. To me, that's something more to be ashamed of than boastful.

And hopefully someday (sooner rather than later), they realize how absurd they sound.

Totally agree. It's a non-pharmacy related tropic. Just send it to the 'Lounge', where this is common discourse. It shouldn't be on professional forums. Professionals at least need to have the appearance (if not true expression) of being more accepting.

Actually members of some ethnic groups are automatically better or worse metabolizers of various drugs than everyone else. Variations of CYP450's and such. 😛

If I were an Asian girl I would never admit I don't like Asian guys, that just screams internalized racism. And as far as Asian guys not into Asian girls.. well, if you like the idea of being single for the rest of your life

I said A&M does not have cheerleaders. This stems from A&M being all male military institution until the late 60's. So we still have male yell leaders.

I once interviewed an ex-Cowboy Cheerleader...for a pharm tech position..

Also, there were a bunch of them on one of my flights... they look really young in person.. like straight out of high school.. well, most of them are I guess.

I work out with a cheerleader for the local NFL team. She's really sweet. Total opposite though; from afar she looks 18...but up close she looks much older and wears an inch of makeup. Even when we're working out.

See, I always figure that there are a certain percentage of people from every group who are smart, and a percentage that are not. When you consider the population of Asia, 5% of a couple billion is considerably more than 5% of a few million. By this model, there are more smart Asians than Americans.

Posts/Threads like this make me laugh like mad lol, cuz in fact it seems US is the only place that's soooooooo bloody obssessed and oversensitive with racial stereotypes. And most of them don't even seem to realise they are brainwashed by messed up Hollywood films.

Outside North America(AU, UK, etc. which I find are more multicultural countries), these sort of stereotypes wouldn't even fit in as much at all from my personal experience.
I've seen many very athletic/buffy Asians in AU(but that could be because I go to gym often and that the Asian groups are much more diverse here).

I also had an unusual experience when I was at a restaurant holidaying in Sydney, where an asian waitress working there had a strong British accent!
(Born in Hong Kong, raised in England for like more than a decade and moved to AU recently)

Nobody in the world has the amount of racial integration the US and Canada have. So don't even attempt to pretend that you know wtf its like because you see a few Asians here and there in convict land. If you look at the Australian Olympic team...its all white people. China...all Asian people. England...all white people. Kenya...all black people. USA and Canada? Who the **** knows what you'll get. It's a mixture. African, Asian, Hispanic, Indian (dot), Indian (feather), Irish, Scottish, Italian, Russian, Greek, Arabic...everydamnthing.

So you saw an Asian with an English accent? Do you have any idea how many accents our Asians speak just from those born within our own borders? Some have a hickish Southern accents (like Hines Ward )...some sound like Valley girls...some have Brooklyn accents...some have midwestern accents...everydamnthing. We got it.

For a few countries with unprecedented success at racial integration never seen in the history of the planet, we are allowed to rib each other here and there. We can do it because that **** is over. It's been over for some time. Sure there are some crazy ****s here and there, but nobody actually thinks any of this **** is true. Like when people make fun of West Virginia and ask how old I was when I got my first pair of shoes. Nothing mean is meant by this ****. You have to be ****ing stupid to think that.

Meanwhile, there are countries like Germany and Turkey that can't even handle the Kurds. Arabs and Jews ****ing hate each other. Muslims and Christians in Darfur. Russians can't handle Chechnyans. And you're going to try to say WE have a problem with race?

Well, it was a hootenanny of a day. Pa was out on the town sellin' them ramps he grows down by the crick to passersby and cookin' folk. Turns out a man named Horace J. Wallsworth moved to town. The man was a shoesmith ont Monday and Friday. A dentist Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Something about the filling needed to be stored and used up before 3 days made him keep that schedule. Anyways, long story short, turns out the man wasn't just a shoey and a teethey. He also made one heck of a French onion soup. Now the problem is, down in West By God, we ain't got not daggum e-lek-tricty, let alone a supply of onions. The poor fellow went months passin' by pa's ramp stand. Fella didn't even know what a ramp was. Well, long story short, the fella noticed one day that Pa was sellin a type of onion. Suffice it to say, he was rather flowry about the situation. So the man started buyin' some ramps and started a'making his soup. Well, long story short, turns out he made one heck of a bowl of soup. Some days when it was a tad airy out and the townfolk wanted a hearty bowl of something warm to keep 'em toasty, they became accustomed to stopping by his shop and taking in a bowl of soup. Well, long story short, the man needed him a larger, more steady supply of ramps to satisfy his customers. Well, pa didn't have enough labor to go out in the ramp bush and harvest him some more crop. Bein' he owned the only pair of shoes and all. Well, pa needed to try something, so he had me wear our only other shoe on my strong foot (I'm rightfooted). Well, long story short, turns out it ain't the easy thing on God's Green to try to pick you some ramps all sigogglin to one side. I'd come home with my toes all gummed up with dirt, mud, bugs, heavens knows what else. Well, pa went to that shoey-toothey-cookey feller and said, "Sir, I'd like to be able to harvest ya some more of them there ramps...but, dangit, my boy ain't got but one shoe." Well, long story short, next thing you know there was some haggling and barter a'foot...lil' ol Mikey had himself a brand spanking new pair of shoes. I believe I was the envy of the mobile home park going on 4 years for that one back in my yesteryears.

And that's how I got my first pair of shoes.

You know, in all honesty, the way people treat those with Appalachian accents is much more overtly worse than any racial discrimination nowadays. And I learned my lesson about you prejudiced *******s fast. I swear to God...you take anybody from the Appalachian regions of WV, KY, TN, NC and put them in a city somewhere...they will sound like the most generic American you could imagine. Fly them back to WV that same day and they sound like Dolly Parton. It's the damndest thing. Hell, I'm guilty of it, too.
