NHSC wo/ disadvantaged background?

Since the national health service corps scholarship is so selective, and one of the criterion is to have a disadvantaged background, do applicants without such a background not stand much of a chance of being accepted for the scholarship? Has anyone here been accepted without a disadvantaged background?

I was kinda concerned about this as well. But then I thought about it, my mother got the NHSC scholarship for nursing school back in the 80s.. and she wouldn't have counted as disadvantaged, so unless things have changed I'd say you still have a shot. (Granted the 80s was 20 years ago...).
