Anyone gone to UNJMDSOM for an interview already? If so, what did they ask and did they give you time to ask questions? What was the demeanor of the interviewers? I've heard it can be so cut and dry and formal that you're not sure what they really hoped to learn by offering you an interview. In spite of that, I am hoping for an invite. I hear it is EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE, even for residents and does have an excellent program and hospital affiliations. Any comments? Thanks

I would also like to know some more about SOM. I have an interview there on 10/14(!) and I couln't really find any significant info on the school at their website, interviewfeedback.com nor in the little brochure material they sent me. Thanks for all replys. Good luck everyone!

RDO in regard to your reply to my post on UNJMDSOM, congrats on being given an interview on 10/14. What type of GPA and MCAT scores did you have if I could ask? Do you have any graduate work or significant work experience in the health care environment? I am just wondering if I even have a prayer for this school. Thanks for your comments and Good luck on the 14th

Congrats on the interview! I also have one on 10/14 (see you there!), so I'd also like to know a bit more about the school. If anyone has any information, I'd really appreciate it.

My GPA is around 3.75 overall (3.65 Science) and I scored a 30 on the MCAT. As for graduate work, the answer is no. Also, I have some volunteer work in hospitals, but nothing that I would call "extensive". I think what may have gotten me the interview besides decent numbers is a good letter from a DO (next door neighbor for most of my life). In addition, I focused a lot on "Why Osteopathy" in my essay. Not that I bashed allopathy (I wouldn't want to), but I let them know why the philosophy suits my vocational desires given my experiences, etc. I still don't know much about this school so if anyone can give me some advice, please POST!! Thanks everyone and GOOD LUCK.
