Do these two books complement each other well as a text and qbook? I have been searching for which surgery books to get and I run into these two quite frequently. I feel that I may get a better bang-for-the-buck if I stick with the Casebook, but I wanted your opinions.

the shelf exam was filled with "What would you do next?" questions, and I thought Casebook was perfect for that. I didn't think the NMS surgery text was necessary at all.

I thought NMS surgery was a really thorough book, but I started it late and it's really long. In hindsight I wonder if I should have in fact focused on Casebook...but it's a little dated. I still think one will get a better knowledge base from NMS Surgery. I don't enjoy case books.

Thanks guys. I ended up buying the Lawrence text and the NMS Casebook since that's what most recommended. Most said the casebook was essentially a necessity, as were the Lawrence questions, so I just opted for using Lawrence as the main text.
