I havent received any acceptances yet. I have interviewed three places and three waitlists. My stats are Okay too. Some people are even getting interviews so late. This is quite frustating and sad. How can I bring myself some good luck? This was my second time applying! I believe in God and I prayed all year for me to get interviews, which I did, I now just need the acceptance!

God has his own timetable. Keep your faith up. Some people get accepted the day before classes start, so do not lose hope.🙂

You should have prayed for the acceptance instead of the interview in the first place!

Just kidding. Hang in there. Three times a charm for sure!!

You should call the schools and express your interest and desire to attend!

Good post, and very true.

And even if you do not get accepted, don't get too down. Things happen.

I am bracing for a first year rejection next year, simply because I have on-the-fence stats.

Good luck with everything!

At this point act as if you are going to have to reapply and get your stuff together again. If you get an acceptance in the meantime, great! I know it sucks but what can you do but keep the faith and hope for the best.

I'm sorry. Things will turn out though even if you do get in somewhere or get in somewhere later than sooner.

Don't give up.

If you've interviewed at the bigger, private schools, don't give up so soon. Spots will open up, come May. You can always shoot an email to schools to let them know that you're waiting to hear from them.
Acceptances take time, but it's well worth the wait!
Good Luck!

Just keep trying. I applied 3 times without even an interview, then got in this year. Take classes if you can, follow all the advice. Applying again will show how much you want it. Also, give the schools a call.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your responses. I really appreciate all of them. I have in fact contacted the schools via email/mail/phone, not all at once but gradually over time (to not come off as a pest) and have updated schools. I think the hardest part is to wait and just thinking about the worst..applying yet again! I am not trying to think negative so still praying that I get in. Yes,I agree I should have prayed for an acceptance.

I am still praying forthat!

Thanks guys🙂

You couldn't have said it better.

inspirational! Congrats on getting in. What improved your application?

Keep bugging the schools. Ask them about your status and that you really want to attend. Ask them what will make you better the next time around (granted you don't get in this time), shadow more, take some masters classes, service, dental mission trip. Bug the schools again.

I went through 2 years of getting rejected before getting in. I really feel that they look for dedication and perseverance during those times. It really sucked getting rejection letters two years in a row, and it made me really question what i was doing and why. But it also lit a fire under my *** to think that I was never going to be good enough. In the end I got what I wanted and I feel I am much more prepared for dental school. If I had just gone straight into dental school I don't think I would have done as well. It helps to get the set-backs over with early on. Too many people worry about dealing with the successes of being a dentist but it is much more important to know how to deal with defeat. Just always keep trying to improve yourself and you will get what you want.

those were some very encouraging words. In my case, this was my third year applying. I was interviewed at my top choice last year and then wait-listed. I never made it off the waiting list so I reapplied this year and in the meantime became a full-time dental assistant. I interviewed again this year at that same school and just heard back that they were putting me on the wait list again. 🙁 It really stinks to be in the same position again as I was last year especially when I've come so close to getting in.

I'm never giving up though... 😀
