While studying for the MCAT, I missed two attempts to contact me by my Pre-Med Advisor (I had silenced notifications for my phone). When I became aware of her attempts a week later, I immediately contacted her and she told me that she can no longer help me because she has archived my files. I don't know what to do, I have no science letters because the science professors never got back to me, and now I don't have a committee letter. Please don't tell me that I messed up or screwed up because I am very much aware of that.

What year are you in school? When did you start making these calls....were you unaware you were applying this cycle?

Talk to the pre-med advisor again. That seems awfully draconian on them. Explain the situation and apply a reasonable amount of persistence and see where that gets you. Likewise contact (preferably in person) your science professors again.

So you studied 24-hours nonstop? When you laid your head against your pillow at night, you didn't check your notifications?

Thank you very much for the advice, Monkitty. I sincerely appreciate it, and will do as you say!

Sorry to say you really are in trouble because no letters means no application.

1. We are at the age where you should be checking your email several times each day. Your advisor is very busy too, should she not check her email either?

2. You never got any LOR's from professors? Did they even say they would write them? It sounds like you waited until the last minute with these as well

3. If they hold out on you, then just beef up your app and apply next year

Oh man that's tough especially if you're applying this cycle. How about you send her a second e-mail explaining your situation she might change her mind. I also suggest you start e-mailing all the professors that you took A's in their course, worst case scenario is you'll get a "no" or they don't reply back.

Just submit 2 science letters, not a committee letter. Find two classes you got A's in, talk to the professor a bit and ask for a letter. If you had any interaction, even better. Preferably you should do research or something but...its a bit late for that now i think.

Fixed that for ya. 😉
How does 2 science letters, limit your options? All the schools I've come across are just fine with either a committee letter or 2 (sometimes 1) science letter. Many undergrad schools, like mine, don't have a pre medical committee to begin with

I thought some schools also require a LOR from a non-science class too.
