Hello everyone,

For those of you who have just taken the DATs, how did you erase your note boards? I called my local prometric center and I was told that they do not provide ANY dry erasers! I called DAT testing services and asked them, if it's "legal" to erase my note boards with an old T-shirt that I can wear a really old one on my test day, and just use it to erase the note boards. He said the dry erasers are not given anymore for at least past 2-3 years, and that we cannot erase the note boards but ask for more during testing.

How did you manage not to erase during testing? The person at the prometric also stated that their markers are hard to erase.

Thank you.

To make up for the lack of dry eraser, they give you multiple sheets of noteboard & fairly fine tip pens. The center also gives you the option of asking for more during the test as well as exchanging your used sheets for new ones during the break.

I usually use tons of scratch paper during my DAT practice test at home but during the real DAT, I had no problems with the running out of room on the noteboard (most of the problem's numbers will be easy enough to do in your head anyways)

You are lucky. My test center does not provide any scratch paper and any erasers! They only give out 2 note boards and 2 markers that cannot be erased. 👎

Oops, My mistake. I meant to write, they gave me 2 sheets of non-erasable, double-sided noteboard + 2 pens but the center also gave me to option to asking for more during the test & getting new ones during the break.

When you got new note boards, did you have to turn the marked ones in? In other words, they only let you keep two note boards at a time? Thank you.

This is much better. The erasers came with the old dry erase markers which were too thick. Now they have these wet fine tip markers which is one notch thicker than a ball point pen. The ink flows quickly and smoothly. So you can write faster and fit so much more on a sheet. Feel blessed there are no more erasers (and dry erase ink)!!

how can I practice using one of these noteboards before my test? I am nervous because I use tons of blank printer paper when I am practicing….. Also, on test day do you have to stand up, walk over to the proctor and exchange your noteboard? or can you just raise your hand or something like that?

If you really want to just laminate some graph paper and use a dry erase marker. Poeple have done that

Hey! I was worried about this too. Don't be. You get a ton of space and you can ask for new sheets if you want. I don't think they can give you extras without collecting the old ones, though. Don't stress. I raised my hand and was fine. They're pretty prompt. I had an entire sheet left. The GC is pretty conceptual... not a lot of actual writing required. And the numbers are pretty easily divisible in your head. They do that on purpose. Math is the only issue, really. I filled up a lot for that. But I had two new sheets I requested before coming back from break! So that was nice to have those.
