I was waiting on UCLA, UCSD and Cedars Sinai, but have not heard from any of them-does this mean I can pretty much consider those are all rejections? My app is obviously complete

Hey, don't give up hope yet man (or woman)! I just received an invitation to UMass two hours ago completely out of the blue. Also, I'm still waiting to hear from five programs myself, even though I've been contacted by six so far. Keep your chin up!

thanks dude-and its man not woman here! I know I guess we all get greedy-I recieved interviews from most places I applied including some of the UC's but it was UCSD and UCLA that I really wanted! Of course its always we want what we cant have huh-guess I will consider myself lucky and move on-if I get lucky than i get lucky! thanks dude-congrats on umass-that is tough ****!

i think cedars waits till around mid-november. it is still early. although i got 34 invites i am waiting and expecting more. i expect atleast 10 more this year and 5 more in jan from cancellations.

34 invites?? WTF dude-Tell me you are not going on all those interviews? I do not get that-if you are a US grad-than why in the world would you apply to that many considering psych is like the 2nd or 3rd least competitive. ANd if you are an IMG-and you got 34 interviews than you must be a superstar and probably did not need to apply to that many-so what gives?? ANyway congrats!

I personally only applied to 10 places and got 7 interviews except the 3 I realy wanted-typical! arggg! oh well-anyway congrats dude and thank sfor the tip on cedars-I do remember now some email they sent they only start reviewing apps in novemember so that is reassuring! thanks dude-and good luck!

today, my friend (applying to anesthesia) decided to contact all the programs he hadn't heard from. he sent an email saying, hi im very interested in your program, just wondering what my status is. half the places emailed him back saying they were not going to interview him (rejections, although apparently they were never going to tell him), and the other half emailed him back saying that they're still wading through applications and they'll let him know in the next few weeks. granted, anesthesia isnt psych, but it just goes to show that many programs still aren't done sending invites.

I did get some offers after Mid Nov, though most of them were before (when I applied).

You could always scramble. You of course don't want it to get to that, but even if you get no offers, there's still hope left. Also even if you don't get into a scramble, a small amount of opening still are sometimes opened due to some freak occurrence because one of the new candidates drops out. There's a website that shows any open spots--forgot the website's address.

I hope there is still hope 🙁 I am starting to get discouraged that I have not gotten even ONE interview yet...53 programs, 46 of which I applied to on 10/16. I've received 8 formal rejections, but the rest? Have programs already silently rejected me, or are they still reviewing? I plan on calling them soon to find out. But this just boggles my mind, that not ONE program to this day will get past my performance on the USMLE and see what I'm really made up of. If this is the game of matching into Psych, then I lose...but I'm not giving up yet!

was this directed to me? I said in my mail that I have gotten plenty of offers-7/10 places I applied other than these three so I do not plan on scrambling! Now the dude with 52 applications in and no interview well I relaly wish you the best man-I am SURE you will match somewhere-after all this is psych! I guess I am surprised how much harder getting into top psych programs was-I was told I was pretty competitive for psych and I have had good luck with interviews but still the three places I really wanted to go didnt give me interviews-so psych is not that easy!
