So guys,

I was an early applicant to a lot of schools, mid July submitted, and I ended up receiving two rejections. Most of the schools have been stuck at Application Under Review or Application Complete.

I'm not sure how the whole pre/post-December interviews are supposed to happen, but if I haven't heard from any schools by now should I begin preparing for whats next? I'm asking because I'm debating whether or not to look into a post-bacc program or pursue a career in biotech.

What were your stats and where did you apply?

A 3.05 and 16PAT is unfortunately just too low. Work on your grades and try again.

I think a retake is necessary or a post bacc with a high gpa. With your stats, it will be a little more difficult since the competition is strong and most people have either high gpa or dat or even both.

What schools did you apply to and where did you get the rejections from?

I'd recommend a post bacc and a DAT retake. I would say retake the DAT for this cycle but I think your GPA would still be a barrier. It is best to just prepare for the future right now. You could still get an invite but don't count on something that has low chances. Start searching for programs. Your other DAT sections look great, which shows that you really have potential and next time will most certainly get in if you put in the time and effort to raise your GPA and train yourself for PAT.

No word from OP, no reply, I wonder. Has he given up him dream, due to his stats being under?

Hey OP. I looked over your stats and I think you need to do a postbac. A year of upper division science electives should give you enough boost to apply with some confidence.

I would also suggest retaking the DAT. For applicants with lower GPA, above average DAT(21+) can be a game changer.

In the meantime, pad your ECs and shadowing hours too, if possible.

If you do all of these things you should have a great shot as long as you apply wisely.

last ditch effort would be to do real well in an SMP and retake DAT with 21+.
