I sent an email with my letter of intent to the dean of admissions, however, I have not received a response in over a week. I am not sure if they just get lots of these or if she missed it in her inbox. Should I send her another email or just let it go? I have already sent my letter of intent to the admissions office as well.

The dean doesn't need to respond and admissions only needs to if you were accepting (and sent deposits if applicable)

Is that the norm then? Do most applicants who send in letters of intent not get a response from the dean and that's ok? How do we know if they actually got the email then, and it didn't end up in spam or something?

Intent means nothing. Why would they respond to hundreds of applicants just saying they love the school?

Even if they did it is likely to have little to no effect except in very specific cases.

Let it go.
Deans get dozens of these from people who will dump them like a hot potato.

They treat these as lies, you know.

Don't be an extra needy special snowflake.
