Hello

If I submitted AMCAS to a school but chose not to submit a secondary , am I still considered a reapplicant as far as the school is concerned?

thank you in advance.

For AMCAS purposes, yes. Individual schools may use some other standard on their respective scondaries (e.g., "Have you completed an application for a previous class?").

"Have you applied to this medical school in previous years? You must indicate if you have ever previously applied to this medical school, even if a secondary application from the school was not completed. Indicate previous application activity by clicking the radio button labeled "yes" below the question. Submission of an AMCAS application is tantamount to filing an initial application. Failure to acknowledge previous application activity will result in an investigation."

I emailed AMCAS asking them that same question, and they said "yes" you are a reapplicant, check yes where it says have you applied here before.

I don't remember all the schools I designated on the AMCAS in 2001. What happens if I listed a school and put down that I am not a reapplicant to that particular school? Would my application processing be delayed?

When you print out your AMCAS app, it will list the previous year(s) you applied next to the respective schools. If you didn't apply to a school before, that column will be blank.

Are you sure about this? I submitted my primary last year and then withdrew. The previous year column is blank for me, does it only change when submitted (like the GPA calculations?)

I applied during the 2003 and 2004 cycles. When I print my app from this past year, the "Previous Applications" column shows 2003 for the schools I reapplied to this year. Maybe it changes after you submit? Or maybe it's different if you withdraw from AMCAS? I didn't withdraw from AMCAS the first time, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
