I'm taking alg. Based physics for my physics prereq. From my research, calculus is not on the MCAT. We use "physics with mastering physics" 4th edition by James s. walker. Anyone have experience with this book for their physics course?
Non calc based physics: what textbook did you use?

lololol I hope your teacher doesn't use the mastering for homework. I am just finishing up my general chem sequence and my teacher used mastering chemistry a lot, the questions on there were such a bi***.

I was getting about 25-40 chemistry questions a week on mastering. The questions range from really easy to comprehensive step by step problems that will take more than 10 minutes. I am guessing the physics is the same difficulty so don't worry. Also you don't even need calc based physics for the mcat from what I have heard, but calc based physics flows better when you are learning it.

I will be using Essentials of College Physics - Serway/Vuille - 1st Edition. I've flipped through it and it isn't written that well to be honest.
For the MCAT don't even bother with a textbook. use MCAT prep books like Kaplan or Exam Krackers. Physics for the MCAT is actually much more watered down than your book and you'll waste time studying things you don't need. Plus it's better to practice it in the context of a standardized test and practice problems. I say this from experience and as an MCAT teacher.
