Can anyone explain why you have an increased risk for non-Hodgkin lymphoma in both common variable immunodeficiency (CVI) and in Sjogren syndrome?

Also, any particular reason you get Giardia lamblia (among many) infection in CVI?

Many thanks in advance.

decreased immunosurveillance => more cancer is a general theme you'll see throughout pathology

CVI and sjogrens are indicative of B cell defect... further accumulation of defects eventually leads to cancer

decreased gut IgA is why giardia runs wild in CVI
