Non-P/F grading advantage with Step 1 change?

Hi all,

I am currently considering attending a school that does not have true P/F grading (4 different grade tiers), and I am curious whether there might be any advantage to this in the eyes of residency PDs (for competitive specialties) given that STEP 1 will go to P/F. Of course, assuming that one's grades are good throughout.

Stop thinking like a premed. PDs don't care about your grades. They'll use Step 2 in lieu of Step I
