is a letter of interest appropriate to a non-rolling school like duke, northwestern, or harvard at this time? or should one wait till some decisions are made in march/april before sending a letter of interest? ( i realize northwestern has made a few offers, but i had heard that the majority of their offers are made in march). thanks

Are these pre-interview...or post?

post-interview. 😳

I seriously doubt it could hurt. I've been told that if you are waitlisted, you should be sending a letter every 4-6 weeks. I'd imagine a letter of intent post-interview, pre-decision would just emphasize your interest in the school. Make sure to let your first choice know that it is the one you would drop everything to attend.
