Hey guys! This question is for non-traditional DPT students who had a career before PT school, or are a little older: what are some challenges you faced or some things that surprised you about going back to grad school? For example, there's usually a huge emotional difference between a 22-year-old and a 28-year-old (not trying to be offensive to the younger people). Were you able to fit in socially? How did you handle the academic pace compared to your classmates?

Any other insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am also curious about this. Also curious about the financial costs/benefits from a non-trad DPT. Does your salary reasonably cover your loans and other costs?

I started PT school at 33 years old, four months ago. I haven't noticed any challenges other than those faced by all my other classmates. All the 22-year-old kids in the program are pretty easy to get along with, and we do socialize outside of school. There's really nothing to worry about. As far as academics, I am doing better than some students and worse than some. Again, not much to worry about there. If you can get in to PT school, you can handle the academics.
