I am almost finished with my pre-requisites, I just have Orgo II + lab left which I am taking next Spring. However, I also work 3 days a week (computer scientist but for a medical-related research job). I really wanted a lot more time next semester to just study for the DAT. However, I don't have a lot of science courses besides the pre-reqs and some psychology. And UMD requires biochem, so I have to take it at some point. Would it be better to take biochem during the summer after applications and DAT? I plan to apply in May or June. Thanks!

You can't apply until June... so...
DAT is mostly the basic sciences, Organic Chem being the "upper science".
You should be fine without Biochem.
Just take Biochem that summer and have it listed as an "In-Progress".

Im a non-science major that applied with only the required prerequisites - no upper level sciences - and didn’t have a real issue getting interviews. However, I do believe that I would have received a few more interviews had I taken some more upper level science classes. You don’t need them for the DAT though. If you do well enough on the DAT and have a good GPA, I don’t think it will matter that much.

Definitely. As long as it is completed before dental school starts. If you have time and funds, I would try and take Micro as well. I didn’t and it limits you on where you can apply.
