Hi SDN,
I just had a quick question for those of you who are going to be (or did) taking 1 (or more) years off between college and medical school. Whether you're spending the year applying, or you want some work experience before hustling off to the big leagues, I'd love your input.

What are/did you do during that time? Did you volunteer? Work? Travel the globe?

Currently, I'm looking into being an EMT (applying spring 2010), but was curious as to some other options.

I know a lot of people who worked as EMT's. It's a good experience prior to med school.
