Yet another "what are my chances" post, but I hope I can find some valuable input here.
As the title says, I'm a non-US IMG and I'm graduating this month, which makes me a fresh graduate. I'm done with Steps 1 and 2 and will take OET soon. I also do not have any relevant publications yet, but I'm expecting to get a couple of metanalysis out before september. I'm in the middle of my first USCE this month and plan to have a couple more before the application season.
Now here is the question: I'm really torn between applying for IM and Anesthesia next cycle, with anesthesia having an edge; how likely am I to match in Anesthesia in the current scenario? I know that taking some time to actually do research in the USA would increase my chances considerably, but this is the issue - the opportunity cost implied would actually make IM my first choice instead. The amount of time and money I'd have to spend to make that happen do not feel worth it to me at this point in life, and I would still be happy to go to IM instead.

Where do you go to school? What was your Step 2 score? How about your grades/class rank?
