None APA internship

I am in a situation that requires some insight. I am accepting a non-APA accredited internship after going through the match that produced a few interviews in very competitive sites but no match on match day. I really don’t want to waste any further time on reapplying and wasting more time and money trying to match at an APA internship site. I know that one of the downfalls of not going through APA internship is that I cannot work for the federal government e.g. VA administration. Although I was considering working for the VA but I now have other ideas for my future as a clinical psychologist e.g. private practice, consultation, etc. Any feedback from individuals who went through non-APA accredited internship and those who have would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that if you go through with the non-APA accredited internship site that you document all the hours you worked, and the types of patients you saw during the year. For licensure in many states, they have strict requirements if you did your internship at a non-accredited site.
