Have any non-traditional students or pre-med students taken their science or general education classes online through platforms like StraighterLine, Study.com, or Sophia Learning to save money, and then transferred those credits to WGU or another accreditation online College to complete their bachelor's degrees? After then apply to medical school? I have started the process of retaking my science courses at StraighterLine to save money before applying to medical school..

I think they generally recommend taking them at your local community college or university. They may offer online sections. If money is a factor, do a search on inexpensive community colleges. Apply there and take the courses online. In some states cc courses are like $60/credit.

It will help you out significantly to be somewhat challenged when taking pre-reqs to prepare for the MCAT. Taking the easy way out usually has consequences. Do it right the first time.

Also, it looks like these programs will show the grades on your transcript as P/F. I doubt that will be beneficial if you're looking for a GPA enhancement as it would be unclear whether you passed with an A vs. passed with a C.

Personally, I'm doing a mix of both, but nowadays I can't seem to find any of the hard pre-reqs online, since the majority require lab. I think try to do in person, but take what you can't online. Ultimately, look at what the schools you're trying to get into accept, what your plans are, and how you can make it all work out.
