I have been complete at all of my schools for some time now, but have only heard back from a total of 3 out of the 12. How long is the normal wait to hear back from a school? According to emails I have received I am complete, and on the websites I am able to check I am complete, but I have only gotten 1 interview and 2 rejections...and besides that nothing, and no word about it. It's been about 3 weeks give or take a few days. Should I call and check or would that show I am too nosey, or should I just check.

WVSOM sent me an interview extremely quickly so I was just curious about this, and waiting for answers is driving me crazy.

Have you been watching the school specific threads to see when others are hearing from the schools you're wondering about?

I submitted at some schools last September and didn't hear back until April/May that I was rejected... So, it all just depends on your application and the schools you applied to.

Just relax and enjoy the fact that you have an interview. Your other schools will notify you soon enough. 😉

Thanks for the feedback...it's good to know that it can take awhile. I called all the schools "checking" that I was complete even though i knew I was already just to try and gauge things.

I applied to about 8 D.O. and 4 M.D. schools, but is it too late to apply to more? I am getting kind of nervous, the 1 interview is great but I am overly paranoid about these things, and REALLY want to start school next year. Any feedback would be appreciated. I know it is very late in the cycle.

My stats are 3.7 s.g.pa. 3.7 c.g.p.a

24R MCAT (9VR, 8BS, 7PS)

this whole time I thought the 30 days of wait to get the mcat result was brutal!!!! I WAS WRONG, this wait is far worse!

Your stats are similar to mine. I applied to 23 schools and have 4 interviews, 1 rejection, and 2 holds. You need to look at the application process as an investment. Not just in the cliche "investment for the future", but a serious financial investment. I see people all the time selling themselves short by saying, "i'll only apply to X amount of schools because it is so expensive...but I REALLY want to get in this year". That just doesn't make any sense. Look at it long term--If you do not get accepted the year you want to go, that equates to (depending on what you go into) possibly around $250,000 you missed out on between now and retirement. It puts those couple of extra thousand dollars to shame.

Bite the bullet and send out more applications to other schools you would like to attend. You are right in middle of the cycle, it isn't too late. Best of luck!
