I am interested in applying to UNT for admission in the class of 2010, but I also realize that as a state school they only reserve around 10% of their class space for out-of-state applicants... before I waste $75, does anyone know how competitive these slots are? I have decent stats, but I was wondering if anyone knew of someone (wow that was vague) who got in out-of-state and what their stats were...

I don't know anyone who has gotten in from out of state but I do know that the spaces are extremelly scarce. Not to discourage you but the last entering class only admitted 3% out of state and 7% the year before that. That being said, if you really want to go there and your scores are good then give it a shot, there ARE some people that make it. Also, these numbers could be off since DO schools get les applicants in general and they may get even less out of state applicants since it's not on either coast. Just my 2¢

I can tell you that the stats req to get in are above average. Almost every student that applies to UT and Baylor systems apply to TCOM for a backup! So the stats get elevated quite high. I'm from Texas and decided I had a better shot at out of state private schools and got multiple acceptances.

To parallel your situation:

I was accepted to OSU-COM as an out-of state (Texas) resident. Although state schools tend to have higher stat averages than private schools and take a small percentage of out of state students, it can be done.
