What ever happened to the dental school at NW? Why did they shut it down?
Thanks,

I don't know if this is 100% true, but I've heard that they didn't have enough money to fund the dental school (which is more costly to run than the med school), and the money went towards the med school.

From the stuff I've heard, vixen is partially right. If you haven't seen it, NW new med school is beautiful. Downtown Chicago, brand new buildings, etc. Why build all these things you ask? We'll apparently the school wasn't so happy with the ranking of the med school (#22 currently, hasn't changed much in recent years) so they started throwing all this money at the med school. This left no more money for the dental school and since the overhead on a dental school is more, they shut it down. it's really too bad because NW was a great school. Chicago in fact used to have 2 schools (NW, UIC, Loyola) and now only UIC is left; which explains why they only take in-state people now.
