Never been to Northwestern, but I highly recommend the train (El, or CTA, or whatever they call it there) to get from O'Hare to the city. For $5 you can get a 24-hour pass allowing unlimited rides. It's awesome. 👍 Takes about 45 minutes from the airport to downtown.

Take the Blue Line (El) from O'Hare to the Loop. It will be the Forest Park line. In the loop you can either just get off and walk to wherever you're going, or transfer for free to the Red line if you want to go to NMH.

Since I didn't know the Chicago area at all, I took a shared shuttle to Dowtown from the airport and it cost me only about $15 (one-way). Good luck on your interview!
