How important is honors/awards/recognitions on AMCAS? I have no more space left to include it (all my other activities are truly unique and dont want to remove them). Has anyone had any experience leaving this section out?

I didn’t include any of my awards/honors/recognition, but I don’t know that I had any that stand out. My college didn’t have a deans list, and my GPA held an implied honors status and academic scholarship. I am an eagle scout, but I didn’t think it would be worth including that at the expense of my other activities. I was accepted to 2 MD schools and waitlisted at 4, so it’s not a necessity. It really depends on what honors/awards/recognitions you have.

Can you consolidate similar activities into one entry? E.g. if you did a bunch of activities related to say, trombone performance, list them all under one entry with details in the description. I did something similar with a bunch of short term/one time volunteer things. Unless you are a nontrad though chances are you are listing things that won't move the needle one way or another and you'll just need to prioritize.

They are the least important category unless it is something extraordinary like a Pulitzer Prize and even that could get mentioned under employment or publication or something else. 😉
