I'm applying this fall, but i've realized (a little late in the game) that i don't have enough clinical experience. i plan to volunteer at a local hospital this summer, but how/when do i let schools know this? i've heard that it could look bad to do this late in the game (as if i'm only doing it for med school), so how do i keep it from looking like this???
on a related note, i have 30 hr volunteering with the red cross in my area at blood drives, but it's buried under a heading of non-clinical volunteering on my AMCAS which was already submitted. I had ~125 hr total of service including the red cross, and i lumped it together since i only had 15 slots for activities. is there any way to highlight this too? do you think the adcom will recognize it for what it is anyway?
😕
