A lot of the schools I'm looking at require biochemistry. I won't be able to take biochemistry before applying to dental school. Does this look bad that I didn't finish this prereq? also, should I apply at all to schools that require biochem?

You don't need to have biochemistry done by the time you apply; you just need to complete it before you start dental school. I don't think it would have any effect on your admissions (they're more interested in your gpa/DAT/extracurriculars/experience/personality)

This should most definitely be in our planned/in-progress courses, though, right? I mean it'll come up on interviews, so you should be able to show schools that you have a plan you're executing.

While that is probably a good thing to put down, it probably isn't necessary. I think the schools assume that everyone will get their pre-reqs done, or else they wouldn't have applied.

You need it before you ATTEND, not before you APPLY. If they accept you, you just have to have all the prereqs done by a certain date, like a month before d-school starts. As long as you will have everything done by then, you're fine.
