I'm currently in my second semester in a cell biology lab and working there for 5 credit hours. For some reason, I just can't seem to connect with the work. I really like the people and the PI is brilliant, but my motivation and interest is subpar and I'm sure it shows in my work. Last semester I was incredibly busy and unfortunately didn't get to come into lab as much as I wanted, and this semester isn't the improvement I was looking for.

I currently work in another lab studying pharmacology and I'm doing great over there, but the bio lab is killing me.

Has anyone else run into a similar situation. What thoughts do yall have about this? ANy experience similar?

Trying to divide your time between two different labs is a bad idea. I know because I'm doing the same thing right now. I'm finishing up in my thesis lab (which is a "less than optimal" situation) while working part time in a new lab where I will be full time. I'd say pick one. Science takes a huge time commitment and I think you will get more out of just working one place. Do what you enjoy.

I agree with GradTX. I did research in two labs over one summer, and even without classes it was tough to stay motivated and to really put hard work into both. Would recommend just going to the one that really interests you.
