not improving in usmle world

im really concerned since im not imporving in my usmle world avg, ive done half the q bank exactly and my avg all unused randome timed is 63% and it hasnt changed in a couple of weeks. i do 50 q per day. i have some good days with low 70s but mostly low 60s. sometimes the more confident i am in a test, the less of a score i get. i have never scored below avg in any test (the avg they provide at the end of each test), and i consistently avg between 5-15 percent above avg but im not really sure what that means. i have just a bit over three weeks left and this is too frustrating, everyone says they improved as they go along but this is certainly not the case for me.

People seem to think a 75%+ score puts you in good shape for a 250+ score. I'm waiting on my score but I hope they're right.

If you're consistently 5-15% above average I don't think you should worry too much. Like I've told many of my friends who felt down about their world scores, I believe the average world score is not representative of the average Step1 taker. World seems to be the consensus qbank among the well researched super-gunner sdn types. I'm also pretty sure the UWorld average is additionally skewed by people who don't do questions random and timed and also by people repeating questions. I have a friend who is a certified badass who was consistently scoring in the mid 80's and above and he wasn't even in the 90th percentile until he started repeating questions.

i finally improved to 64% overall today ..yay .. lol but i only have like 35% left and i highly doubt i can get to anywhere close to 75% avg. i'll be happy with a high 60s but we'll see. im taking nbme 3 in a couple of days and im so scared i'll get a bad score and my confidence will go away with not much long left to my exam. 🙂

I don't think your cumulative average is too important, except maybe to let you know if you're peaking or not. I always considered my average over the last 300 questions or so the best indicator of my performance relative to my peers.
