This is an odd question, but I'm wondering what the penalties (if any) are of not showing up to your scheduled DAT exam. Cancelling the DAT on prometric results in a cancellation fee. Would I still get billed this fee if I just didn't show up at all? Are there any other significant penalties, such as a marking on my record that I neglected to show up?

Lastly, could anyone direct to me a website with this information?

There are no penalties. This happened to me about two months ago. I signed up for the DAT, and I reminded myself to push back the date two days prior to the date; however, my calendar deleted the reminder some how. A day before the test I called ada and asked them if there are any penalities if I just don't show up and they told me no. I'm not sure why they have a cancellation fee- its kind of absurd and pointless. I guess its to make money and scare us that it will show up on our records.

If you do not show up to the exam you loss the money you paid to take the exam and I think you have to wait three months to reschedule - this is what I was told by the ADA representative I spoke with.

If I were in your position, I would call and speak with an ADA representative to confirm.

Best of luck studying and with the application process - it is a long and grueling process.

That's not true. I simply didn't show up and I rescheduled for the test a month later. You can schedule it 2 weeks later. You obviously lose the money, but thats it.

When I called they told me you have to wait three months and that I must re-schedule 48 hours before the exam or I lose my testing fee. I waited and rescheduled my exam literally a few minutes before I was not allowed to reschedule again and paid the $25 dollar fee to avoid any issues in the long run.

It looks like this thread ended at the end of 2012 but for everyone else who is currently in the same situation i'll provide some information.

I just called ADA and asked what happens if I don't show up to the test that I had scheduled and the representative replied that the scores would not show up, I wouldn't have to wait 90 days to take another test (since I didn't take it,) but I would have to file another application and pay the ~$400 fee.

Hope this helps!
