So at my school our grades are put out of 100 and without a curve. My grades are in the low 80s to upper 70s with one lone 68 (in which I was in the top 10%). My overall class rank is in the top 15% and my dean's letter reflects that.

Would programs throw out an application with not so great looking grades before consulting the dean's letter? And is there any way I can try to inform them of that? Should I go around emailing programs and letting them know? Or is it best to just wait and see. I just feel that I have a really great application outside of that and I don't want an outward appearance to ruin it all, especially being a USIMG.

I know that would be something I should have discussed in my personal statement, but I really couldn't find a spot for it since it disrupted the flow of what I believed to be a very good PS.

Any thoughts or reassurance?

If you are an IMG, probably your step scores are more important than the grades or ranking you are worrying about.
