Heres the thing..I did a committee interview and thought it went pretty well. I surely could use it so I wouldn't have to hunt down any professors to write a LOR fo me..but I keep having this weird feeling that , what if not all 100% of the people in that room liked me or something..? I know for a fact that several do because we converse on a regular basis..but you can't make a perfect impression on everyone..

would it be wise to only use the committee letter for some schools, and not use it for others? Just in case they write something negative on my letter. I talked to one of the interviewers a few days ago because, previously, she actually brought up the committee interview without me asking, and she started saying I have good grades and stuff like that, but then she started saying " yea, if you dont get in this year, I'm sure youll be fine for next year!" ..lol. I thoght about this for a while and then went to ask her what she meant ..she was very vague though, because she says she wasn't even supposed to bring up or talk about the committee interview. So, basically that left a bad taste in my mouth as to whether to use the committee letter or what..what do you guys think?

I think you're over-thinking it. If you think you did "pretty well" then you probably did fine. I don't think anything your interviewer said is negative.

Yup, you're over thinking it. Use the committee letter for everything. If you don't, some schools might think you are trying to hide a bad letter and wouldn't it be funny if the letter wasn't bad at all!

I thought my committee interview was terrible, but I ended up with several acceptances. I think they really try to write a positive letter on your behalf. So unless you insulted them or were completely unprepared you probably shouldn't worry. If you thought it went well, it probably did.

Agreed. It's THEIR JOB to get you into medical school. I know a kid who got accepted this year who was told multiple times that he had a great committee letter... the only interaction he had with our pre-med adviser was his fifteen minute interview with her 😱. Dont sweat it, they want their percentage of accepted students to be high.

That's very true . Ill use the letter. It will make things a lot easier by not having to get professor letters. I just hope it is my non trad paranoia. One of the committee members is my organic teacher and I can tell she likes me. We have good conversation. So hopefully if one of the committee ppl still write something negative, it won't look like the end all be all to schools. Thanks again !
