Th bolder is the correct answer, just not sure how to get there.
Thanks a ton brother11)6.5=2.34 + log b/a
4.16=log b/a
10^4.16=1.4x10^4
Use to tutor biochem while in school. Surprised I still remember how to do this. If you don't know where I got numbers from, I can explain, but better for you to figure it out.
These questions are chapter 2/3 material, you sure you didn't cover it?Oh, interesting. We aren't covering this in my Biochem class, at least not yet..
This part I remember being challenging for my class (not me though, I love the math part), to the point the professor spent the whole day lecturing how to do this since about 95% of the class couldn't do it. I remember thinking "I got here at 7 AM for this!"Oh, interesting. We aren't covering this in my Biochem class, at least not yet..
NP. I remember getting asked stuff like this 5x a week. Practice makes perfect.Thanks a ton brother
My school used the Voet book, and this wasn't till chapter 4 or 5.These questions are chapter 2/3 material, you sure you didn't cover it?
Whoops. Did not know that. I guess my school's tutoring forum conditioned me to answer a biochem question whenever I see one!Just for future reference, SDN doesn't allow homework help. You might be able to get away with it as MCAT prep in the MCAT Q&A subforum, but generally not here.

I literally only know that it is a Terms of Service violation from seeing the mods messages when they close threads. They'll certainly call you out for ToS violations, and yet even when actively looking for it, the damn thing is impossible to find.Whoops. Did not know that. Maybe your professor doesn't think it's important or your school puts it in the curriculum. Metabolic pathways weren't covered till biochem 2 at my school.Well, we haven't as of yet. I'm not sure if the prof is just doing his own thing or what but we pretty much just covered the amino acid group pKas (didn't do any Henderson-hassalbalch) and now we're in metabolic pathways.
This. Also for people going into research, especially with making buffers. Questions like this were worth 5/200 on my tests...When you do, I suggest getting a strong handle on this. High yield test questions utilize HH.
This was for MCAT prep. (Notice the correct answer is already given).Just for future reference, SDN doesn't allow homework help. You might be able to get away with it as MCAT prep in the MCAT Q&A subforum, but generally not here.

I really was only posting that to give you a heads up, because frankly, you really have no other way of knowing since the ToS is apparently a ninja page.![]()
It's not even biochem. It's applied gen chem and shouldn't need to be explicitly taughtWell, we haven't as of yet. I don't have anything that says that....scrolls down to bottom of page, see "Terms and Rules" link... well... looks like I'm a ninja![]()
I know the answer was given. I was just giving you a heads up that stuff like this (particularly since it got into a discussion of 'what has been covered in class yet' which makes it sound class-related) usually either gets locked or moved to the MCAT Q&A section. I've seen threads which are blatantly MCAT-prep related get locked because they were in the main MCAT forum rather than the Q&A subforum. As I said, just a heads up so it ends up in the right place next timeThis was for MCAT prep. (Notice the correct answer is already given).
