I had planned on not turning in my AMCAS until I get my MCAT score retake back (september) because I did really bad on the first one, so bad that i think i'll be screened at schools which is why I haven't submitted up until this point. I am planning to apply to at least 14 schools. Should I submit now so I can be complete and have schools just wait on my mcat scores or should I wait because I will get rejected pre-secondary?

Does anyone know were I can find what schools screen and what the min Gpa and MCAT are?

If it matters, I live in Indiana.

*mod should move this to WAMC*

Anyways, I'm trying to remember your score from memory. 3.4/22 right? I consider my self a stat-cynic so take this with a grain of salt. Unless you get a 28+ on the mcat you're more then likely better off saving the cash and putting it all into the DO app.
I would also say that doing this late at Sept. you'll be at a disadvantage. But at the same time I do not recommend applying with a low mcat and your better off waiting for the new one.

You're situation is similar to mine. I did disgusting on my first mcat, due to the death of one of my close friends. I went ahead and submitted the primary anyway. The rest of my application is solid, and I indicated the death in my personal statement (without sounding too desperate). I also indicated that I'll be taking an additional mcat next month.

I say go ahead and submit. Let them know that you exist. These people are human, and as long as you do well on the next mcat, the improvement should be beneficial to you. Good luck!

well, money's not really the issue, so right now, i'm just trying to figure when I should submit and which schools I should submit to as to avoid being rejected pre-secondary.

You're in Indiana. They don't start interviews until September at the earliest. If you're close to Indianapolis, I'd talk to the head of admissions (I think it's Smart) at the campus. She's nice and willing to help. Otherwise, I'd email her or someone there and tell them your situation. Considering IU reviews applicants carefully and has strong instate preference, things may look good for you despite taking a September MCAT.

uplifting - A guy from where I work didn't get interviewed until February and was accepted.👍
