My question: Does it get complicated when you decide NOT to take the future classes you put on your AMCAS application? So, I actually just got accepted today for the first time (hooray!), and this school and all the other schools I interviewed at do not actually require the 2 classes I said I would take at a community college. The reason I put them on in the first place was specifically for these one or two med schools that did require them, but I haven't received interviews from them yet or expect to since its so late in the process now. What would I actually have to do to cancel these future classes (ie. e-mail each individual med school)? Would it look super bad not to take them? If it does I could possibly just tough it out and take them in the summer. Ahhh, any help would be great. Thanks.

As long as you end up with a degree no one will care. But if you're super concerned call and ask. They aren't going to rescind your acceptance for asking a question.

Thank you, sir. Just the answer I was looking for. Can anyone else who's been in this situation second this?

I could see this possibly being an issue if they were required courses (probably not) but since they aren't even required, nobody will care.

No, it would matter if they required. Every year at my school a couple of accepted people think they're going to get away with not taking one of the required courses they said they would take. Come June the school is asking for the grades and several had to find online summer courses to finish before school started in August.

If its required - take the class. Requirements aren't there to look pretty schools mean it.

OP, I was/am in the same situation. I emailed the first school I was accepted to if I still had to take the class (which is not required there), and they said since it wasn't required they didn't care if I took it or not. So I think you're in the clear!
